At this stage of the competition, a standardised aptitude test is scheduled for 17 January and will be conducted in two sessions (two groups of candidates). The division into groups is purely organisational.
The test assesses basic cognitive skills: logical and numerical reasoning, pattern recognition, and the ability to work with abstract concepts under time constraints. It seems that its purpose is to verify a minimum threshold of cognitive suitability, not to assess professional experience or managerial competence.
Compared to aptitude tests used in large consulting and auditing firms, this test is less complex and serves a filtering function, rather than ranking candidates by intellectual or strategic strength.
Thirty-eight tried the numbers and clues,
the maze took its share — twenty-five held the route.
Out of 38 candidates, 16 advanced to the next stage of the competition following the evaluation. Half of them are current or former customs officers, while the second-largest group consists of representatives of NABU. The next stage of the competition — a legal knowledge test — is scheduled for early February. At the same time, special background checks by the Security Service of Ukraine and integrity checks have already been launched and may continue up to the interview stage.
Sixteen made the cut, onward they went,
yet not all them named the burden they cared.
All 16 candidates successfully passed the legal knowledge test and were admitted to the next stage of the competition.
The oracle of law posed questions grave,
and all sixteen gave answers, firm and brave
