Privacy Policy for NGO Technology of Progress

This privacy policy describes how the NGO Technology of Progress (referred to as "the TOP NGO," "we," or "us") collects, uses, and discloses personal information in connection with our website and our activities. We have created this policy to better align with the best practices and recommendations from data protection regulatory of the European Union (EU) and data protection legislation of Ukraine.

Information We Collect

We may collect personal information from individuals who interact with us through our website or our activities. This may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, phone number, and any other information you provide to us. We may also collect information about your preferences and interests. We may also automatically collect certain information when you visit our website, such as your IP address, browser type, and referring website. This information is collected using cookies and other tracking technologies.

How We Use Your Information

We may use the personal information we collect for a variety of purposes, including to:

  • Respond to your inquiries or requests

  • Provide you with information about our activities and services

  • Improve our website and activities

  • Comply with legal or regulatory requirements

  • We may also use the information we collect for other purposes with your consent.

How We Share Your Information

We may share your personal information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, data analysis, and customer service. We require these service providers to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information and prohibit them from using or disclosing personal information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements. We may also share your personal information with government agencies or regulators when required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety or the rights, property, or safety of others.

Your Choices

You may choose not to provide personal information to us. However, if you choose not to provide certain information, we may not be able to respond to your inquiries or provide you with certain services.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect certain information about your browsing behavior on our website. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. However, if you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of our website may then be inaccessible or not function properly.

Website Analytics

We measure how our website is used with our own first-party analytics, stored on infrastructure we control. It does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not sell analytics data or share it with advertisers. We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which collect aggregated, cookieless usage and performance statistics.

For each page view we record the page, the referring website, campaign tags in the link (UTM parameters), the approximate country and region, the device type, the operating system and the page language. Your IP address is not stored: together with your browser's user agent it is only used to compute an anonymous identifier that changes every day, so visits on different days cannot be linked through it.

To count how many visitors return, your browser keeps in its local storage (localStorage) only the date of your last visit to the website and to the customs dashboard (/customs). The date itself never leaves your device: we only receive whether your previous visit was on an earlier day and roughly how long ago (for example, "2–7 days"). No identifier is stored on your device, and a date older than 13 months is ignored. A random session identifier and the campaign tags of your entry link are kept in session storage (sessionStorage) and are deleted when you close the tab. You can remove this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for uaprogress.tech.

Analytics data is used only to improve the website and to report aggregated usage statistics to our partners and donors.

Data Security

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access. We regularly review and update our security measures to ensure they meet current industry standards.

Data Retention

We will retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Your Rights

You have certain rights with respect to your personal information under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right to access, rectify, or erase personal information, the right to object to processing, the right to restrict processing, and the right to data portability. You may exercise these rights by contacting us using the contact information provided below.
